These past few weeks have been a blur for the soup kitchen. After we all finally thawed out from the snowy winter, we were able to spring back in March and April for some exciting activities. We collaborated with Appoquinimink High School and Middletown High School to help us design our special ad which is currently on display at the movie theater. Thanks to their efforts we were able to kick-off our movie benefit night at Westown Movies on March 27. It was a fun night with good friends and a movie. We were very appreciative to have such wonderful support from our volunteers and sponsors for helping to make the movie night a big success.
While we were preparing for the movie night at Westown Movies, Salad Works started their discount coupon to help support our cause and Pat’s Pizza was getting ready to allow us to have another dinner to support the soup kitchen. The discount coupon at Salad Works is still available and all you have to do is just mention us at the Middletown location. We had an excellent night at Pat’s Pizza on April 3rd and we are ALWAYS very thankful for their continuous support as we work to bring a permanent soup kitchen to this area.
Last but not least, we continued forward with our annual event with Bob McGhee to host the Good Friday Fish Fry on April 18th. We had a great turnout, the food was delicious and we are always so blessed to see so many people come out for such a tasty event to help the soup kitchen.
Thank you to the supporters and our followers who made these events possible. We wouldn’t be anywhere without you!
Sincerely,
Timothy DeSchepper, President
